If you want to convert your attic and care for healthy and natural living conditions you will here find a suitable example from practical experience. In the course of the renovation of their house the owners have converted their attic all on themselves. The attic should accommodate the future bedroom. In order to create a particularly healthy environment only untreated biological building materials have been employed. As a non-bearing partition Hiss Reet walls were used for the conversion of the attic and the interior finishing of the house.

Here, we provide you with detailed fitting instructions for our partitioning system for an ecological interior finishing.
In a first step a batten of 6 x 8 cm has to be screwed to the ceiling beams. Then we place the individual elements, adjust their height according to the roof pitch and screw them together. In the pitched roof area the timber studs of the partitioning system are screwed to a batten which is attached to the roof beams. We have not yet applied the fabric lath, but we have fitted an auxiliary rafter of the thickness of the clay plaster. The auxiliary rafter serves the plasterer as starting point for the float. If the wall is plastered and you want to fit wall cabinets etc. you can find the timber studs of the partitioning system with the help of marks on the auxiliary rafter. When the floor is finished you can just screw the base board to the auxiliary rafter.
Here, the wall has been provided with a fabric lath which has been fixed to the timber studs with the help of a staple gun.
For the installation of a wash basin a wooden board has been screwed between the studs of one of the wall segments. As a last step the different parts of the wall heating are screwed to the timber studs and the pipes are fixed to the wire of the Hiss Reet wall with tie wraps. The pitch of the roof has been planked with ecological loam panels.
After placing the wall elements the plaster fabric has been applied. The parts of the wall heating have been screwed to the studs and tied to the individual segments of the partitioning system with tie wraps. The electrical installation (sockets) has been implemented with the help of a board that has been screwed on the wall.
The doorways are situated to the left and to the right. The electrical installations are located in the shortened left wall unit. Again, the switches have been embedded into boards and the boards into the wall unit. The cables can be drawn through the wires without any problem just as if they were additional reed stalks.
In the background: The exterior walls have been insulated from inside with a reed insulation (Hiss Reet panels).
The sockets can be sealed with mortar.
The wall heating system has been screwed to the solid masonry construction of the exterior wall. The pipes have been attached to the reed insulation panels with tie wraps.
The doorway has been built without the special inside door units or headers from Hiss Reet.
The auxiliary battens and the plaster fabric have already been fitted. The wall is ready for the clay plaster.
